This couple, who are currently trying to secure a spot on the hit TV show “The Real Housewives of D.C.”, crashed the president’s party state dinner in an attempt to gain publicity in order to help them secure a spot on this TV show.

Now, let’s start with the obvious, this Virginia couple, who were NOT invited to the White House, maybe one of the most secure buildings in this country, somehow managed to slip in with the elite politicians from around the world in order to try and win a spot on a reality TV show? Is it just me or are people getting dumber by the day.

This couple deserves nothing less than to be shot on the White House lawn.  And while this may sound extreme, let’s remember that Thomas Jefferson once shot a man on that very same lawn. If these people accomplished anything, it was a public questioning of the competency of the Secret Service and the security surrounding the president.

How was it possible that two uninvited reality TV wanna bee’s made it into the White House, we probably will never know, that is, unless someone pays their asking price of $500,00 just for an interview. You heard right people, these pathetic excuses for human beings want half a million dollars in order to grant interviews about the night in question. Does anyone else see something wrong with this?

Not only did these people trespass, rub elbows with elite politicians and starlights, and now they want 500k. If anything, these people should be fined money, forced to declare bankruptcy, and end up living in a cardboard box in Richmond, Virginia somewhere.

But, unfortunately, due to the doubled-sided blade that is the media in this country, the more exposure these two get for what they did, the more fame and power they will amass. And with results such as these, I would not be surprised if many more attempts to crash state events will become normal reporting for Washington D.C. reporters.

Fans of this game literally spend hours on Facebook trying to raise their level via virtual farming of crops and livestock in exchange for virtual money known as coins. The kicker is that this game actually allows you to buy these ONLINE, VIRTUAL, FAKE coins in exchange for REAL money!

So let me set the record straight, this country, which cannot afford to get any stupider or lose any more money as we are in the worst economic recession since the Great Depression o the 1930s and people are really spending their precious time and hard earned cash to buy fake coins on a fake game that has no real value or effect on life?

What ever happen to reading, huh? You know, those rectangle shaped books filled with pieces of paper with thousands of words in them? Ringing any bells? Look people, I love this country but its a known fact that we are not the smartest country. Hell, we are not the smartest, the fittest, the richest, where not even biggest. The country cannot afford to have a generation of lazy pricks who have nothing better to do then play a STUPID online game that means nothing!

If you enjoy farming, get yourself together, show a little dignity and pride, and go start a real farm. Hell, go work on a farm, I don’t care. Just make a difference. People all over this world are starving and poor, and people choose to spend their precious time and money playing Johnny Farmer for a online game that nets them nothing. I literally mean nothing, the only thing coins can do is buy you items for the game, nothing else.

So please, to everyone in the world happens to play Farmville, the next time you turn your computer, stop, think for more than 10 seconds about it, and realize you are wasting your time and money. Your efforts would benefit yourself more either reading a book and go outside and do some actual farming.

Now, text messages are a common everyday occurrence, and everyone is using them, from applying it to an immediate alert system, to actually selling their products via text messages.

Recently, there have been a lot of advertisements that actually will sell you a service via text messaging. Some companies use text messages to sell answers to questions which are texted by patrons, at a standard text message rate of course, while others sell downloadable pictures and ringtones to use on your phone. Many major companies and businesses have numbers which its customers can text in order to get real, up-to-update help or information.

My personal favorite, which I feel shows that technology and society has reached an all time low in history, is being referred to as Adult Text Chat. Basically, to put it as softly and simple as possible, grown people, mind you most are functioning members of society, literally have nothing better to do then send a random “ADULT” text to a perfect stranger and proceed to do say “Adult Thing”.

Can I be the first to say WHAT? Human interaction was never meant to be so anonymous. All this is doing is creating a generation of people who literally cannot converse with other human being on the most basic social levels and hide behind the anonymity that the online world provides. If you want to meet someone, leave the house, forge meaningful relationships, and take a chance if you will, for there are no substitutes.

Let me just end by saying this to everyone and anyone who may be reading this, human interaction is unique and special, not to mention sometimes downright hilarious, but it’s a part of life, one that should not be missed because you still live in your mother basement at the age of 35 and your biggest accomplishment this year was that you have finally amassed a 10000 person friends list on Facebook.

This excerpt comes from one of the greatest plays by William Shakespeare, arguably the greatest poet/writer/playwright/ of all time. But ole’ Bill would weep to see the depth of despair the English language has fallen.

Gone are the days of the smooth flow and ebb of a language that used to hold such elegance, such poise. Where people like William Shakespeare, Langston Hughes, Edgar Allen Poe, and Mark Twain could craft pieces of literature art that were so welled versed, so inspiring that full-grown able body men would be reduced to tears.

Now, we live in the world of digital talk, where phrases like “Where R U” and “Haha” or “LOL” constitutes an entire sentence. The fact that the human language can just be ravaged and misconstrued like this on a day-to-day basis is just sad. Some of the greatest men in history fought to keep the written English language the beautiful, sophisticated, majestic form that it once was, and in less than two decades, man has managed to tear it down into a strange alien text of symbols and single letters.

I personally blame the birth of internet chat rooms and text messaging. These two forms of communication have allowed the English dialect to be plundered and make those who use this new idiotic and daft dialect to communicate there every thought without ever forming a true sentence. Do the world a favor, those of you who actually think that “Ur my BFF” forms a coherent sentence, and put down the phone or keyboard and pick up a book, preferably one written with a little fire and passion, and see just where the written English language can take you.

In my opinion, it’s a matter of ignorance. People really believe these are words they can use to replace actually having to say something of meaning, so before I conclude this attempt to set some people straight, I will review a few of the more popular idioms that are involved in text talk and online chatting:

• U (you) is not a word, it’s a letter. Take the time to spell out a three letter word. It is spelled YOU people, as in “You need to learn to type.”
• Ur (your) is a text form of the word YOUR, I am really not sure how this connection was made. I suppose its along the same idea of U standing for YOU
• LOL (Laugh Out Loud) is not a sentence. It’s not even a word. If you laugh, please simply reply by saying “that was funny”. Please, keep the LOLs to yourself
• Thanxs supposedly stands for Thank You. Your guess is as good as mine.
• BFF has caught on recently, standing for “Best Friends Forever”. This in my opinion is simply insulting. If you care enough for someone to say to them they are your best friend, take the time to spell it out like a decent human being.
• LMAO also has caught on in recent years, standing for “Laughing My Ass Off”. Again people, in order to avoid future embarrassment for yourself, because all you do when you use these little quips is show your ignorance to the world, take the 10 seconds it takes to type what you would like to say and spell it out.

Now I know what many of you will say. “It’s easier” or “I don’t have time to type out all the words” and if that’s the case then please, don’t send myself or anyone else of sane standing messages like these. The only individuals who I approve of ever using this language are prepubescent teenagers who know no better.  If you are a grown individual who poses knowledge beyond that of a 7^th grader, then when you take time to message someone, have enough respect for yourself and the person you are talking to use you’re thought carefully and cunningly and to your advantage, in order to preserve the dying art that is the human language. But is it really necessary to post your entire life online? Let’s be honest for a minute, we don t need to know when you go to the gym, when you go to class, when you take out the garbage. These are all facts that I can live my life without. They are only pert anent to the person who posts them and if that’s the case, why not just keep that information to yourself?

Answer, because everyone wants to feel like a rock star. Everyone wants to feel like their life is important enough that the fact they just drank 4 red bulls and is going to the library might have an effect on someone else day. God how conceited can we as a race be. The only person that is interested in your life is your stalker, and trusts me; you don’t want him to know where you are.

So here is my contribution to the world of online social networking sites, unless you have something to say other then the fact you just ate the biggest ball of string cheese ever, please don’t update your status. Just because you have the ability to do it doesn’t mean you need to. Practice a little discretion and come to realize the status of your hair, or your car, or your wardrobe means little to the world and even less to me.   -Lucas Llado
